Meet Suzanne Stowe, owner of Pony Tails Parties! Pony Tails Parties is a unique animal experience for the Tulsa area, specializing in parties and events. You can have parties on their farm, but their animals are also safe enough to come to your own backyard! Suzanne is a proud OSU alum and rode and competed on the Equestrian Team throughout her college career. How long have you lived in Tulsa?
I have lived in Tulsa since I was in 1st grade! I went Monte Cassino and Bishop Kelley! I received my Undergraduate Degree in Education and Masters in Reading at OSU in Stillwater!
How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have two kids. Ella is almost 5 and Jackson my son went to heaven at 4 months old.
Tell us about how Pony Tails Parties came to life?
I bought Pony Tails Parties from a dear friend in 2018. I am a teacher and I wanted to combine teaching and my love of animals into a small business! I still teach, but I love doing parties and teaching kids about how to care for animals, handle them and interact with them. It is truly a dream come true to have this business. When I bought the business I just did pony parties and barn parties. Two years ago we added on the petting zoo! Now we do pony parties, petting zoo parties and host camps and barn parties at our farm in Sand Springs!
What are the different services you offer for your parties? Which package is your favorite?
We do Barn Parties at the farm, We Come to You Parties in backyards, and Camp! This is a tough one because I love all of them for different reasons. I think my favorite would have to be the We Come to You package because I love to see the kids’ faces when they see all the animals in their own backyard. The novelty of it is just so priceless. They will never forget having pony rides, a llama and a petting zoo in their own yard!
You do summer camp too, right? Tell us more about that!
We do! Summer camp is such an awesome hand on farm experience for kids. The kids get to play in our mud kitchen, play in the creek, build forts, play with the ponies, learn about the care of all the animals and get to interact with all of the animals on the farm. I love seeing their imaginations run wild.
What is your favorite family activity in Tulsa?
My favorite family activity in Tulsa is probably going to the Gathering Place!
What is your mom-mantra for getting through the most stressful times?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! As a mom, things are just going to happen! Take a breath and let it go.
What is your favorite date night spot in Tulsa?
Polo Grill for sure! This has always been our favorite for date nights and special occasions.
